The plastic lid from the 2200 model was degrading and falling into my food!!! I no longer use either of these blenders.
SOLUTION 1: I switched to a glass Waring blender container (used from eBay). It is a good regular blender, but it is not a powerful high-speed blender. It can mainly handle liquify recipes like fruit smoothies.

PROBLEM 2: When I found out that the Vitamix® container may NOT in fact be as claimed, “BPA-Free” (see my video – “Why I no longer use BPA-free Vitamix.
