[What is yohimbe]

Yohimbe is a tree that grows in Africa, and the natives there have used the crude bark and purified compound to enhance sexual desire and performance. Yohimbe has been used for centuries as an aphrodisiac. It has even been smoked as a hallucinogen. Nowadays, Yohimbe bark extract is mostly used to treat impotence for men and women.

When ingested, Yohimbe is assimilated into the blood stream, and Yohimbe’s energizing effects come from its ability to increase blood flow to the genitals - and this applies to both men and women.Aside from its aphrodisiac effects, new research also show that Yohimbe has powerful antioxidant effects.

Beneath the towering redwoods lives one of the most peculiar creatures in California: the banana slug. They’re coated with a liquid crystal ooze that solves many problems slugs face in the forest — and maybe some of our own.

Banana slugs are important members of the redwood forest community, even if they aren’t the most exalted. They eat animal droppings, leaves and other detritus on the forest floor, and then generate waste that fertilizes new plants. Being slugs, they don’t move very quickly, and without a shell, they need other protection to keep themselves from becoming food and then fertilizer. Their main defense: slime. Slime refers to mucus-the same stuff that coats your nose and lungs-found on the outside of an animal’s body. Banana slug slime contains nasty chemicals that numb the tongue of any animal that attempts to nibble it, discouraging predators like raccoons, who have to go to the trouble of removing the slime if they want to eat the slug. But this is just one of many ways slugs depend on slime, and they use it for everything from locomotion to nutrition.

How to roast crispy pumpkin seeds from a carved pumpkin, with garlic and salt. Easy tutorial by Nikka Ischelle

The seeds came out soooo delicious that I have to go and buy more pumpkins to make another batch for my family and friends! I used pumkin carving tools from the dollar store, a kitchen knife, and metal spoon to get a good scraping inside the pumpkin. The seeds were really easy to seperate from the squishy pulp inside too. I love the salty garlic flavor on the seeds, next time I’ll play around with different flavors. You may also use any kind of oil, I was out of olive so I used canola oil.
