[Function]

Resveratrol is an active component extracted from Huzhang (Polygonum cuspidatum) in China.

It is an antioxidant phenol and a potent vasodilator that inhibits serum triglyceride synthesis, lipid peroxidation, and platelet aggregation.

It is extensively used for treatment of blood vessel disease such as atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia. In addition, it has anti-virus and anti inflammatory activity, can treat acute microbial infections and viral hepatitis.

The lecture describes the hydrophilic & hydrophobic nature of phospholipids, soaps, emulsifiers and Bile. Measuring 25 1/4″ in length, this unsplit Arroyo Willow (Salix lasiolepis) branch flute is tuned to a low Dm (A=432) key, 1&4 pentatonic modes and the Gypsy scale, with a soulfully resonant voice, playing three upper register tones. Some of the bark has been left on, well sealed to insure its continued adherence to the wood, and several small knots have been inlaid with crushed turquoise. Deer lacing with turquoise and brass beads holds the bird to the nest. To help prevent wet-out, the bird has been fitted with a redwood shoe, and a drain hole, covered by the lacing, has been designed into the bottom of the air chamber. The branch for this flute was gathered sustainably, with prayer and gratitude, along San Marcos Creek, in San Diego County, CA, amongst a wild grove of Arroyo Willow trees. California Indians found many uses for the wonderful willow tree, including bows, baskets, shelters, clothing, fish traps and medicines derived from salicin in the willow’s bark, the original aspirin.
