Video Summary:
Why “Bulletproof Coffee” Is B.S
https://www.SeanNal.com/articles/nutrition/bulletproof-coffee-review.php
What is Bulletproof Coffee?
It’s an “upgraded” coffee drink intended to be used as a replacement for breakfast.
The Bulletproof Coffee recipe is as follows…
250-500ml coffee using filtered water
2 tablespoons grassfed butter
1-2 tablespoons MCT oil
The supposed benefits of Bulletproof Coffee are that it improves cognitive function and increases fat loss due to the CLA content of the butter and the thermogenic/appetite suppressing effect of the MCT oil.
But is Bulletproof Coffee healthy and/or effective for losing fat?
Here are 3 reasons why Bulletproof Coffee is a bad idea…
1) Bulletproof Coffee is very high in total calories and fat relative to its volume.
Each cup contains 450 calories and about 50 grams of fat.
If your goal is to lose fat, then you need to be maintaining a calorie deficit over time by burning more calories than you consume.
Waking up and downing 450 calories and 50 grams of fat in liquid form is not going to be conducive to maintaining a calorie deficit since it’s very calorie dense and won’t fill you up.
There is also no conclusive evidence to show that CLA or MCT oil have any significant fat burning effects in humans. Even if they did, the effect would be very modest and wouldn’t come anywhere near offsetting the 450 calories in the Bulletproof Coffee itself.
2) Bulletproof Coffee is very low in essential nutrients.
Aside from a small amount of vitamin A and K found in the butter, each cup is basically devoid of any real nutritional benefit.
If you’re using this as a replacement for one of your daily meals, then you’ll probably be stripping away anywhere from about 20-30% of your daily nutrient intake assuming you’re following a standard fat loss diet somewhere in the 1500-2500 calorie range.
3) Bulletproof Coffee is very high in saturated fat.
This isn’t guaranteed to be a problem, but the health effects of very high saturated fat intake are still not known, and given that Bulletproof Coffee probably won’t benefit you anyway, I can’t see any reason to take the risk.
All in all, Bulletproof Coffee is really nothing more than marketing hype and I’d highly recommend skipping the oil and butter and sticking to good old plain coffee instead.
Hope you found this Bulletproof Coffee review helpful.

What Are the Aloe Vera Benefits?
Aloe vera produces two chemicals used for medicine: The gel is obtained from the cells at the middle of the leaf, and the latex is derived from the cells just beneath the leaf skin.
Many men and women use aloe gel for a cure for skin conditions, including burns, sunburn, frostbite, psoriasis and cold sores, however there’s a host of other aloe vera benefits. Aloe gel is also used for treating osteoporosis, bowel diseases, fever, itching and inflammation.
It’s also used as a natural remedy for diarrhea, stomach ulcers, diabetes and also for soothing side effects of radiation therapy. Aloe latex is used to naturally treat depression, constipation, asthma and asthma.

Aloe vera is one of approximately 420 species of this genus Aloe; the botanical name of aloe vera is Aloe barbadensis miller, and it goes on the Liliaceae family. It’s a perennial, xerophytic, succulent plant that is green and has triangular, fleshy leaves with serrated edges. The geographic source of aloe vera is believed to be in Sudan, and it was later introduced at the Mediterranean area and the majority of other warm areas of the world, including Africa, Asia, India, Europe and America.
Aloe gel is the apparent, jelly-like substance found in the internal area of the aloe plant leaf. Aloe latex comes from just under the plant skin and is yellowish in colour. Some aloe goods are created from the entire crushed leaf, so they contain both gel and latex.

Aloe vera is regarded as the most biologically active of these Aloe species; astonishingly, over 75 potentially active components are identified from the plant, such as vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, anthraquinones, enzymes, lignin, saponins and salicylic acids. It supplies 20 of the 22 human-required amino acids and eight of these eight essential amino acids.
Aloe vera contains many vitamins and minerals necessary for proper growth and function of all the body’s systems. Here’s an easy explanation for aloe vera’s active parts:

Aloe vera includes antioxidant vitamins A, E and C — also vitamin B12, folic acid and choline.
It contains eight enzymes, like aliiase, alkaline phosphatase, amylase, bradykinase, carboxypeptidase, catalase, cellulase, lipase and peroxidase.
Minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, selenium, chromium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, zinc and sodium are present in aloe vera.
It supplies 12 anthraquinones — or chemicals called laxatives. One of those are aloin and emodin, which act as analgesics, antibacterials and antivirals.
Four fatty acids are found, such as cholesterol, campesterol, beta-sisosterol and lupeol — all providing anti-inflammatory results.
The hormones known as auxins and gibberellins are present; they assist with healing wounds and have anti-inflammatory properties.
Aloe vera supplies antioxidants, such as monosaccharides (glucose and fructose) and polysaccharides.

Aloe latex should not be taken in high doses since it can cause side effects, such as stomach ache and cramps. Long-term usage of considerable quantities of aloe latex might also induce diarrhea, kidney problems, blood in the urine, low potassium, muscle weakness, weight loss and heart problems.
Do not take aloe vera, either gel or latex, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. There are some reports of mucous causing miscarriage and birth defects. Children younger than 12 years old may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea and diarrhea, so I do not advocate aloe vera for child use either.
If you have diabetes, some research suggests aloe might decrease blood glucose, so in the event that you take aloe by mouth and you also have diabetes, monitor your glucose levels closely.
If you’ve got intestinal conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or obstruction, do not take aloe latex if you have one of these conditions because it is a bowel irritant.
Do not take aloe latex if you have hemorrhoids since it could make the condition worse.
High doses of aloe latex are linked to kidney failure and other serious conditions, so don’t take aloe latex if you have kidney issues…
