[What is Tribulus terrestris?]

Tribulus terrestris is a vine that has been used as a general tonic (energy) and herbal treatment for impotence, but is found primarily in dietary supplements marketed for increasing testosterone levels in bodybuilders and power athletes. The idea behind tribulus is that it may increase testosterone levels indirectly by raising blood levels of another hormone, luteinizing hormone.

In this video, I uncover whether a well renown supplement called Ginkgo Biloba actually causes cancer or not. I carefully investigated the study that came to the conclusion that Ginkgo Biloba was linked to an increase of cancer incidence in rats after long term 2 year exposure. In reality, they caused the results to be skewed because they included a carcinogen in the oil (corn oil) that was used to extract the Ginkgo Biloba.

The study mentioned comes from the U.S. government’s National Toxicology Program (NTP), which evaluates chemicals of concern to the public. It was asked to evaluate ginkgo extract by the National Cancer Institute. After two years of study, the NTP concluded that the extract causes liver cancer in mice and that there was “some evidence” that it causes thyroid cancer in rats.
