You want to know facts about the penis but you don’t want to ask! Watch and learn about penis facts, what it is, how big it usually is and how interesting fact about the penis etc.
The penis is the male sexual organ used for reproduction and
urination. Nerves, blood vessels, fibrous tissue, smooth muscle, and three cylindrical bodies of spongy tissue that have the ability to
engorge with blood make up the penis. By the time a male is 14 years old the penis begins to grow; by length…………
8 interesting facts you need to know about penises
If you’re anything like me, you think of penises as baffling, mythical creatures that you can only dream of understanding. Beautiful, weird, (sometimes) funny, it’s time we got to the bottom of what male genital organs are all about.
1. They’re REALLY bendy
Erm, so apparently, penises bend into the shape of a boomerang during missionary sex?! In 1999, University Hospital Groningen in the Netherlands carried out a study and looked at couples having penetrative sex under an MRI machine. They must have been horrified to learn that the penis bends into a boomerang shape *voms* in the vagina when a man assumes the missionary position.
2. ‘Penes’ is the plural
You might have been referring to a gathering of the genitals as ‘penises’ your whole life (so have we), but apparently ‘penes’ is also the plural. Oh and the best bit? The word is pronounced ‘peen-eez’.
3. The well-groomed ones are more appealing than the big’uns
Various studies have found that the old, tired, stereotype that a man must wield a giant peen in order to pleasure a lover, is actually v wrong. For most straight women, it turns out it’s not the monstrous appendage that maketh the man.
4. Ejaculate travels at 28 miles PER HOUR
Say what? Yep, it’s true. At the point of ejaculation, semen travels at 28 miles per hour. It does slow down once it enters a vagina, meaning it can then take several minutes to travel to the cervix. BUT STILL.
5. Penis length doesn’t make or break a sexual experience, duh
Size doesn’t matter, blah blah blah. But SRSLY, receiving pleasure isn’t just based on a singular penetrative object and entails so many other factors: intimacy, positioning, rhythm, etc. Contrary to popular belief, in heterosexual relationships, many people perceive penis width as being a more important factor in their sexual satisfaction, as ‘fullness’ is considered just psychically and psychologically satisfying.
6. You really can get ‘growers’ and ‘showers’
We’ve all heard this one a thousand times, but it probs isn’t just an old wives’ tale after all. Research from the Kinsey Institute found smaller, flaccid penises generally lengthen at erection by a greater percentage than larger, flaccid penises. For example, a smaller penis can grow significantly larger when erect, while the flaccid and erect length of a larger penis may not differ as much.
7. Circumcision is the most common global surgical procedure
It’s controversial, but for whatever reason men are circumcised (cultural, societal, medical, religious), it’s the most common surgical procedure in the world. In the UK, two in 10 males have their foreskin removed, and it’s the same in Europe and South America.
8. And men who are, are also less at risk of contracting HIV
The positives and many negatives of circumcision have long been argued, and it’s a really tricky topic to navigate. But various research seems to agree that circumcised males are 60% less likely to contract HIV.
