I came across an interesting article which I would like to share with you. I did some research on the validity of this and only found information supporting it. There was a column in the New York Times stating that a man named Li Ching Yun lived to be 197 years old. Newspapers all over the world reported of this man’s death on May 6, 1933. His longevity far exceeded the longest confirmed lifespan of 122 years and 164 days of the French woman Jeanne Calment. His true date of birth was never determined. He was reported to have been a martial artist, herbalist and tactical advisor.
Mr. Li’s secret of longevity: “Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog.” These were the words of advice Mr. Li gave to a warlord, who took Li into his house to learn the secret of an extremely long life. I also found an article from the Apple Daily, written in the traditional Chinese language. I tried my best to translate it, this is his basis of health theory. If any of my viewer can translate this better, I would greatly appreciate it.
Li Ching Yuen reportedly began his herbalist career at the age of 10, where he gathered herbs in mountain ranges. Mr. Li spent his whole life studying Chinese herbs and discovering the secrets of longevity, traveling through provinces of China and as far as Thailand to gather herbs and treat illnesses. According to all the data, it seems that Li Ching Yun consumed mostly a diet of wild plants and fruit. There is evidence that he ate fish often and wild meat occasionally. The herbs that he consumed regularly were He Shou Wu, Wild Ginseng, Chinese Wolfberries and Wu Wei Zi. He ate the berries raw and cooked the He Shou Wu with the Ginseng. It is also known that he consumed Gotu Kola regularly both fresh as a salad and brewed as a tea. There is also some evidence that he may have also put these five herbs (With a little Licorice root) in a strong liquor as a tincture and drank it every day. For more information on wolfberries and gotu kola please watch my other videos, the links are above.
Mr. Li maintained that inward calm and peace of mind combined with breathing techniques were the secrets to incredible longevity. Obviously, his diet would have played a large role. But it’s fascinating that the oldest living person in recorded history attributes his long life to his state of mind.
Mr. Li was said to be a much-loved figure in his community, marrying over 20 times and fathering about 180 children.
We have to keep in mind that some people in this world live differently then we do, they include superfoods and herbs in their diet, which are like steroids for the organs and immune system. They also spend their spare time in nature practicing breathing techniques and meditating which have been proven to improve mental, physical, and emotional health. Maybe if we had the time to do all the things, we knew we were supposed to do, then living to be 100 years old would be a more common thing. When we treat our bodies right, who knows how long we can live for?
